Entamoeba histolytica is a microscopic parasite that primarily infects the large intestine and can cause a condition known as amoebiasis. Many people carry it without symptoms, but for others, it can become a chronic and destructive infection.


Where It Hides in the Body

Entamoeba is mostly found in the colon, but in severe cases, it can travel to the liver, brain, lungs, and other organs through the bloodstream. Once it reaches these organs, it can form abscesses and cause serious complications.
